(My scanner isn't working, so I had to take a picture of a pictures, so of course they are not the best quality, but you get the idea.)
My grandma's birthday was yesterday. I realized this on Sunday night, as I was looking over the calendar to see what kind of a week to expect. And I immediately started missing her all over again. She's been on my mind all week. Which is a good thing, even though I miss her, she led such an amazing life and she has always been such a great example to me. She always knew what to say or do to make you feel better in any given situation, even if it was just that you needed to 'get over it.'

When I was a teenager I was lucky enough to take over the cleaning job that my sister used to do each Saturday. I was thinking yesterday, how lucky I was to get to go over to my grandma and grandpa's house each week and clean for them. Okay, that is what I thought I was doing back then. But more often than not I ended up eating with them, playing skip-bo or checkers with them, watching an afternoon basketball game with them, or best of all listening to stories. I learned so much about them and about the hard, but good times they had growing up in Escalante, Utah. It's good for me to look back on those stories now . . .
Love you always Grandma!

How sweet! I've been thinking a lot lately about Grandma also. I'm with you--I consider "cleaning" for G&G one of my greatest experiences (except for 7-bean soup day--yuck!). We're lucky grandkids, huh?
How fun that you lived so close to your Grandma and Grandpa! My kids can walk to Jason's parents house and they love it and get to see them so much!
I miss our Beesley Valentines parties...they were so much fun! That's great that your mom still does them! Hope all is well with you guys!
