Aerial Freestyle Competition

Friday night, we decided to drive up to Park City to check out the Aerial Freestyle Competition.
We got up there a little late, and then we wished we would have bought lift tickets so we didn't have to hike (with four kids) halfway up the mountain.  But, we got up there just in time to see the last two jumps, which ended up being the 2nd and 1st place winners.  (Luckily we were able to watch as we trekked up the mountain.)  Travis carried Emma on his shoulders, Ty walked--but wished he had skiis, Abby got pulled, and I carried Porter up.
It was cold, but fun.  And we even got to sit down and watch the cool fire work show afterwards.  Next year we'll just plan on leaving earlier . . . so we'll get to see more of the competition.

Here is the silver medalist making his last jump--he was from China.  The US won gold!  Here is a cool quote from the winner, Ryan St. Ogne, who is from St. George.  "I knew I was fast, but I also knew I needed air on the take off.  I went as big as I could; I stretched for my life and somehow I found my feet."  It was totally awesome to see his jump . . . these guys are amazing!

How sad that you missed most of it! But what a fun adventure to take the kids on. You guys are so good at doing more than just the same ol' same ol'.

That looks awesome! I swear you do the funnest things with your kids...again, lucky kids! You are so good to hike up the mountain with them. I would be nice enough to let them watch it on TV, I would even pop them popcorn. You two are so great!
I finally bought snow pants this month. If I'm feeling brave I may join the sledding group next Christmas Eve...no promises. I'm still a big baby!

I'm impressed that you hiked up the mountain, let alone carried four kids up with you! How fun. Your kiddos will remember that one.
As for your question about the leg-warmers babylegs.com You will love them!
